Welcome, please step in! We are glad to see you here, ready to learn more about Step-by-Step.
Step-by-Step is an evidence-based support programme provided through a smartphone app or website, It is based on techniques that have been shown to be effective in research studies.
We have developed this programme for people across the world who are experiencing difficult emotions, stress or low mood. It is based on the most recent knowledge about these emotions, and how to deal with them. The programme is self-help, and contains a narrated story that you can read or listen to, and that helps you learn techniques to help lift your mood and reduce your stress. The programme can be completed in 5 to 8 weeks and is supported with a brief motivational call each week from a trained non-specialist.
In Lebanon, Step-by-Step has been tested and is being offered to the general population by a collaborative team from the National Mental Health Programme at the Ministry of Public Health, the World Health Organization and Embrace NGO
In Germany, Sweden and Egypt, Step-by-Stepis an ongoing study offered to Syrian refugees by a research team at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany.
The aim of our research is to evaluate if Step-by-Step works, and to improve the programme based on users’ feedback.
To accomplish that, we offer the Step-by-Step app and website as part of research projects in different countries. We need many people to test it, so please join to help us!

If you are over 18 and experiencing stress or low mood, please step in.
